The Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers team is at it again! Welcome to our Fall blog hop.
My first card this hop features the incredibly cute Gingerbread & Peppermint suite of products along with the Merriest Moments stamp set. The Gingerbread DSP actually made this card really easy and quick – something I REALLY like about it! Read on to find out more details on how I made this super cute card!
When I saw the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP I immediately knew I had to have it. The patterns are not only super cute but it also just gave me all the nostalgic feelings – which is perfect for Christmastime. I still remember my first Christmas with my husband, and he was begging for Gingerbread cookies which I had NEVER made before. He actually bought me a mixer just to make his special cookies. They’ve now become a family tradition! The Gingerbread dies make it super easy to cut out the larger images of the DSP, as they match perfectly. So I took the outline of the snowflake and cut out the gingerbread snowflake from the DSP. I made a stack of circles from the Layering Circles Dies and then used my Stampin’ Blends to splatter some Real Red and Cinnamon Cider onto it. This reminded me of a sugar cookie with sprinkles on it for some reason! I then mounted my gingerbread snowflake onto the circle stack with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the main layer, I used a 2″ piece of the peppermint DSP and placed it onto a piece of Basic White which had been embossed with our new Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. The “rickrack” strip of paper was made using our Basic Borders dies. I cut a piece of Cinnamon Cider to 3/4″ wide, and then cut the border twice, staggering just slightly to give that rickrack appearance. After adhering the DSP/Cinnamon/white layer to the card base, I then adhered the circle/snowflake stack with Stampin Dimensionals.
For the sentiment, I stamped it onto a piece of Real Red cardstock in Versamark Ink, then sprinkled on White Embossing powder and heat set. After that, I cut out the sentiment using the new Pretty Pillow Box dies. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment label up the same height as the circle stack and let it slightly overlap.
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this card, and I REALLY hope you check out the BYSHC blog to participate in our blog hop!
